Where does art fit in the man cave? Maybe sculpture? LG might have the answer with their latest HDTV masterpiece unveiled at CES this week.
HDTV manufacturers have had to balance two traits on LCD HDTVs. They could produce a very thin LCD HDTV, but it had to have a thick frame around the picture. Or they could produce a thicker TV with a thinner frame. LG has figured out how to get the best of both worlds with their show stopping LE9500 series TVs. This TV is both thin in depth and has a micro-thin frame around the edges. The depth of the cabinet depth of just .92 inches and an 8.5mm frame, which leaves you with more football picture and less TV. And the TV is even 3D ready. Super thin TV with a deep 3D picture. Nice.
It would be nice to see these hit some larger screen sizes, this model maxes out at 55 inches. The audio quality can’t be great because there really is not enough room for decent speakers, but that can be solved with a surround sound system. The picture quality may not be the very best, but the combination of a really good picture and the minimal design make for a man cave must have.
Don’t hang it on the wall! Put this TV on a nice piece of furniture and show off the thin TV to your buddies. It might not ever end up in a museum, but this masterpiece can still enlighten your man cave.
